Martin Luther often taught that salvation was based on faith alone, and not received based upon a person�s meritorious works; however, Luther�s idea of faith alone does not conform to the Biblical teaching that baptism is not required for salvation. In this act, Protestants denounced the mass in placards that appeared across France, even reaching the royal apartments. The church should be changed, or reformed, so that it was less greedy, fairer and accessible to all people, not just the rich and well educated.
