The most famous emigration to America was the migration of Puritan separatists from the Anglican Church of England. The new policy bore fruit at last in an Indulgence. Baptists also observe the sacraments, but tend to be more commemorative than sacramentarian. Unlike the Second Great Awakening that began about 1800 and which reached out to the unchurched, the First Great Awakening focused on people who were already church members. Have these leaders no love of Catholic doctrine?
